Treatment acceptance influences adherence
Non-Acceptance of treatment with anti depressants SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) leads to Non-Adherence a study carried out by Erica CG van Geffen, PharmD, and Rolf van Hulten, PharmD PhD, Marcel L Bouvy, PharmD PhD, Antoine CG Egberts, PharmD PhD, Eibert R Heerdink, PhD reveals and concludes that acceptance of SSRI treatment is a decisive moment in a patient's adherence to treatment initiated by his or her GP and deserves more attention; GPs and pharmacists should address treatment issues, especially in groups at risk for non acceptance.
